Surfing Season

The Maldives surfing season typically runs from March to October, with the Southwest Monsoon bringing consistent swells and favorable winds.

During this period, Muli can receive smoother wave faces and longer rides, especially around its two main breaks: Mushrooms, also known as Muli Outside, and F1's, also known as Muli Inside.

F1's, Muli Inside

F1's is known for fast, powerful waves that break over a shallow reef. Its name comes from the speed and intensity of the wave, which has been compared to the acceleration of a Formula 1 car.

The break can produce hollow, barreling sections and is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers who are comfortable with steeper reef waves.

Mushrooms produces long, peeling waves that wrap around the reef and offer lengthy rides along the face of the wave.

It is generally more forgiving than F1's, making it suitable for a wider range of surfers, including beginners and longboarders. The name comes from coral shapes in the area that resemble mushroom caps underwater.
